Hello and welcome back. I’m so excited to be participating in Altenew’s July 2019 Inspiration Challenge hosted by the lovely and talented Therese. ( You can view the Inspiration Challenge post HERE)
I loved this combination of colours and my mind started whirling with possibilities. I definitely knew that I’d use these gorgeous colours as my inspiration. They remind me of my childhood tropical Queensland home and growing up with a garden full of such glorious colours.
Currently I am taking the Altenew Academy Easy Ink Blending Techniques class and I knew that these techniques were exactly what I needed for the colour blend.
I blended Altenew’s Sunkissed and Orange Cream inks onto Bristol paper and then splattered with gold paints. Don’t you just love the vibrant blend?
Next I stamped the image from the Build-a-Flower: Hyacinth set in inks from the Cherry Blossom and Green Meadows sets. I have hyacinths flowering in my garden right now and they fill me with such joy.
I cut the image with the coordinating die and added depth to the stamping using Polychromos pencils in matching shades.
To finish up I stamped the sentiment from the same Hyacinth set and added embellishments.
I was so pleased with the result and I felt like this card blew a breath of tropical air into my cold wintery Melbourne day.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope my card blew a small tropical breeze into your life. Have a wonderful day and keep smiling.
Oh my, this is amazing Jenny, those beautifully blended bright colours make my heart happy!
Thank you so much Therese. Your words meant the world to me and just made my day xx
